It's been awhile since I've added anything new here, so will try to do some catching up now. I've posted some pictures of a few of the important people in Addison's life, people that he will rarely get to see. During our stay in Saskatoon at Mom and Dad's, Addison got to see Auntie Ruthie, Great Grandpa Ginther, Great Grandpa Sprenger, and Great Grandma Elfriede Sprenger.
The original plan was for me (Susanna) to stay at Mom and Dad's with Addison until the first weekend in June when we were to travel to North Dakota to see my Mom's family there. But, plans changed when Addison ended up in the hospital yet again. Jacqui and I (she ended up coming with us to the medical clinic and spent most of her time waiting for us while we were seeing the doctor, so we really didn't get to visit much, which was sad) took Addison to a minor emergency clinic in Saskatoon, and they then sent us to the Peds Emergency at the University hospital. Addison was admitted that night (Monday), and was not able to go home until Friday. I believe it was a relapse of what he had before, which was bronchial pneumonia. The doctors couldn't really figure out exactly what was wrong, but said it was likely just a cold that had gone deep into his chest. He was put on oxygen because he was working very hard to breathe and oxygen levels were extremely low. He was also given Ventilin through an oxygen mask, which was to help open his airways. He did improve, although at times it was very hard to watch him because he was obviously very uncomfortable and in pain. By Friday he was well enough to come home, but is to continue with the inhaler for a month. It was an interesting stay at the hospital, but we are so glad to be home! Our stay there ended with one of the nurses trying to rob us of $60, saying that we could just pay her the money for the air chamber that was needed with the inhaler for Addison. Minutes later we found out that it would only cost us $13, so we're pretty sure that she wanted to pocket the money!
S0, with Addison still not feeling 100%, we decided not to travel that weekend, and instead my grandparents decided to come up here! It was really good to see them, and I think they were excited to see Addison too. There are some pictures of them below, and one picture of Great Grandpa Ginther with Addison as well (whom he has never met before either). These times are precious, as we do not know how many more opportunities like this we will have. There is also one picture of me and Addison in the hospital. I got to wear a lovely gown every time I entered his room, which is procedure in every room in the isolation unit. Addison now seems to be fully recovered and is continuing on in exploring his world as much as he can. He is reaching for and grabbing everything in sight, which then immediately goes straight to the mouth. He has also become very chatty and is experimenting with new sounds all the time. Pretty sure it is just babble, but he is saying "da da" all the time, which does make Adam pretty happy!
