Big Changes

Ok everyone, I finally remembered that I was going to tell you about the changes that are happening here! You've all probably forgotten already. Anyway, for the past few years we have felt that God has something else in mind for us other than simply working and living in Lac La Biche for the rest of our lives. Adam has felt very unsettled in his jobs, like he just knew that this was not what God wanted him to be doing. We finally made the decision that now is the time to sell our house in Lac La Biche and head back to school - Adam has applied to attend Briercrest Seminary in the fall to work towards a degree in theology, and I will either work or stay at home with Addison and suport my husband in his studies (maybe do a little proof reading and editing for him!) We're not sure what we will do after that, or if God wants us in the ministry, but we feel confident that this is what God wants us to be doing right now. I don't think Adam really wants to be a pastor or youth pastor, but what he really wants right now is to learn more about God and the Bible and to grow in his faith. He has a passion for teaching people what he is learning, especially things that God has been teaching him, and Bible college/seminary will be a great place for him to do that. And maybe that's where we'll end up in the future, who knows.

So, heading back to school means money, which is why we need to sell the house! It will be sad leaving this place and leaving Adam's family, but we do feel confident that this is what God wants us to do. We listed our house with Century Real Estate last week, and there are a lot of people coming to look at the house. In some ways it's nice because that means the house is spotless and clean all the time because we don't know when someone will want to come look at the house (we get a call a few hours before they come), but it's also a lot of work for me!

Right now you could pray with us that the house would sell to the right people for the right price, and also that we would get some information from Briercrest letting us know if Adam has been accepted or not. We have not heard back from them yet, and are just TRUSTING GOD that this is what He wants us to do (especially with selling the house, that kind of leaves us in a bind if Adam does not get in). We both feel at peace about everything and are not scared about where God is leading us, rather excited actually, but it would still be nice to have that confirmation SOON letting us know if we are heading to Briercrest in the fall or not. If Adam cannot get into the seminary (they will have to be generous, since he has not yet completed his first degree in Biblical Studies) he will apply at Briercrest Bible College and hope to get into the seminary next year.

So that is what's been happening with us in the last few months, and hopefully we will have some confirmation soon as to what will be happening in the next few months to come!

That's so exciting!! That means we'll be seeing you guys at Briercrest this coming year, because we go there every once in a while for a week long module in the seminary for Jonathan!! It'd be so fun to see you there! Mike Doerksen is also going to the seminary in Briercrest this coming year. :) Neat, huh?

That's exciting you guys! Dan and I can totally relate to your situation right now. We're also unsure where we'll be in the fall and we in the the process of waiting for God to show us. Right now Dan's the Program Director at a Bible camp in Ontario and we originally thought we'd be moving here long-term, but since we've been here we're feeling that this isn't where God has for us to settle. We have our baby coming in 3 weeks and aren't sure what in the world we're going to be doing after camp is over August 25th. SO...it was encouraging for me to read your blog and know that other people are in the same situations...maybe even foolish in the eyes of the world...but just trusting that God will take care of our needs as we follow Him. And knowing that He's never late but rarely early :)
