Step of Faith

Since finding out that our family was growing from 4 people to 5, we had been thinking a lot about the space that we had in our house. It was adequate for us, yet we saw more and more (especially in the winter months) that our boys could really use more space to run around and play! I know that is not the most important thing in life, but as the one staying at home with them all day, it sure was important to me :)

Adam and I decided that we would advertise our house, just to see if there was any interest, and if people would be willing to pay what we wanted to ask for it. So we advertised, and in less than a week we had a buyer wanting to come look at the house. He told us he was bringing a bill of sale and a $10,000 cheque for a deposit on the house. He and his wife looked at the house, decided they wanted to go ahead and buy it, so we made the deal and the house was sold! It all seemed to happen so quickly that we hardly had time to think about what we were doing, yet felt that with such a speedy sale, it had to be God's perfect timing and hand in it all.

Our house sold in March, and arrangements were made for the movers to come and move it away on June 1 (it is a mobile home sitting on a lot at the NBC campus). And now that meant that we had to find another house! We looked and looked and looked and nothing seemed to be just right. We travelled to Alberta looking at different homes all over, yet nothing seemed right. The stress mounted as we came closer and closer to June, knowing that we would have to be out sometime in the middle of May (to have time to prep the home to be moved, move everything out, and head to Alberta for a wedding at the end of May, not having time afterward to do all the moving). We also realized at this time that God was teaching us to be PATIENT, and to TRUST Him to provide just the right home for us. Our plan was to find another mobile home that could be moved onto the same lot on campus - that way we are right on campus, close to work for Adam, can be involved with the school and students and events going on during the year, and also don't have to pay monthly rent.

To make a long story shorter, we did find a house and Adam traveled to Edmonton this weekend to meet with the owners to sign the papers. The house will have to be moved, and that will happen sometime at the beginning of June. In the meantime, we are very grateful for wonderful family members who are willing to let us stay with them between now and sometime in June when our new home arrives on campus. We are hoping to be settled in shortly before our baby decides to join us somewhere around June 30!

Oh, and anyone want a bunkbed? The house comes furnished, and it sounds like there is a set of bunkbeds in every room! We are going to keep one or two, but need to get rid of the rest, if you're interested!

Also very excited for you! It will be good to have more space. But beware, sometimes there is the urge to fill the space with more stuff. I'm working at that over here. :)

That's great guys! It looks like a nice place! YOur transitions in life always sound similar to Dan & I's....nothing comes TOO easy...God wants to teach us patience and to trust Him before He gives us answers. But looking back, I'm thankful. I guess that's how we grow to trust Him even more :)

I am on a bunk bed hunt! Looking for a wooden one, is that what you've got for sale?
